Vitamin B6 Injection (Pyridoxine Hydrochloride)

Product Description
Vitamin B6 injection (pyridoxine) is essential for protein metabolism, energy production, and normal nervous system function. Involved in nearly 60 enzyme systems in the body, Vitamin B6 is crucial for normal growth, red blood cell synthesis, and vitamin B12 absorption.

Indications and Usage:
Pyridoxine Hydrochloride Injection is used to treat pyridoxine deficiency due to inadequate dietary intake, drug-induced deficiencies (such as those caused by isoniazid or oral contraceptives), and inborn errors of metabolism (including vitamin B6-dependent convulsions or vitamin B6-responsive anemia). It is particularly recommended when oral administration is not feasible, such as in cases of anorexia, nausea and vomiting, preoperative conditions, or impaired gastrointestinal absorption.

Features and Benefits:
This injection supports weight loss when combined with Vitamin B12 injections and helps combat weakness and fatigue by boosting metabolism, making it a supportive option for those following a keto diet. Additionally, it is GMO-free, ensuring a natural and safe supplement.

Vitamin B6 is vital for brain development and cognitive function, aiding in the production of neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine. It supports the immune system by aiding in the production of antibodies and maintaining a healthy immune response. Pyridoxine also plays a role in hormone regulation, which can help manage symptoms of PMS and other hormone-related conditions. It contributes to cardiovascular health by reducing homocysteine levels, thereby lowering the risk of heart disease. Furthermore, adequate levels of Vitamin B6 are necessary for maintaining healthy skin, with deficiencies potentially leading to dermatitis and other skin conditions.

Safety and Usage Guidelines

Contraindications: The injection should not be used by individuals with hypersensitivity to pyridoxine or any of the product’s ingredients.

Precautions: A single deficiency of pyridoxine is rare, and multiple vitamin deficiencies are expected with an inadequate diet. Patients treated with levodopa should avoid supplemental vitamins containing more than 5 mg of pyridoxine per daily dose. Women taking oral contraceptives may require increased pyridoxine.

Drug Interactions: Pyridoxine should not be administered to patients receiving levodopa, as it can antagonize the action of levodopa. However, it may be used concurrently in patients on a combination of carbidopa and levodopa.

Unique Demographics

Pregnancy (Category A): Pyridoxine requirements increase during pregnancy, and it can be beneficial for treating nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy.

Nursing Mothers: Pyridoxine requirements increase during lactation. It is not known if the drug is excreted in human milk, so caution should be exercised when administering to nursing women.

Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness in children have not been established.

Practical Information

Adverse Reactions:
Adverse reactions may include paresthesia, somnolence, and low serum folic acid levels.
